My subject matter is inspired by personal observations and experiences, storytelling & the human condition. About half of my work has always been figurative/illustrative ( watercolours) while the other half of me focuses on printmaking. Some prints use letterpress text with silkscreen and some incorporate stitch. My love of text links me back to the past when I studied Graphic Design & Illustration at Camberwell School of Art. There I made my first artists books and fell in love with the processes and practice of printmaking. After Post-Graduate Printmaking at Brighton School of Art I moved into teaching and gained MA in Art and Education at U.C.E. in Birmingham. For many years I taught art and ran projects for all ages in Community projects and in Arts in Health/Therapeutic Arts provision. Now I concentrate on making my own work.
I am a member of Marches Book Arts Group and The British Printing Society https://www.bpsnet.org.uk/.
On my other Website … portraits in watercolour. are some portraits and illustrations of friends, family and commissions all created (along with regular life drawing) to keep up my observation skills.
