Etchings

Here is a small selection of etchings.  I  use Zinc, Copper and occasionally aluminium plates to create the images. The plates are etched in acid and then printed under great pressure onto damp handmade paper. This process forces the ink out from the lines and groves on the plate creating an impressed image.

Great Galloping 1 … Etching on zinc with ‘chine colle’ (A process where hand coloured/dyed paper is placed on the plate after it is inked  and then combines with the paper during the printing process)
